Dinosaurs & A First Birthday (Alexandria, VA)

I'm not usually a morning person, but the early light in Old Town Alexandria is gorgeous enough to turn any oversleeper into a jump-out-of bed-type of person. Plus there are no crowds - just alleyways full of ivy and red brick walls.
This little girl's first birthday was a few days after our photo shoot, but she walked/ran/explored so much that you'd think she was turning 2.
I love to take photos of kids discovering the world around them - and these two kids were so full of love, laughter, and curiosity. The entire family radiated joy. I spent the rest of the day smiling - happiness really is contagious.
