I love my job. And I love all the amazing families I photograph, but this family, in particular, will always have a special place in my heart. I started photographing them years ago, as a family of three and, as cheesy as it sounds, their support made me the photographer I am today.
There's something incredible about watching kids grow up - especially when you only see them a few times a year. Somewhere along the way we went from playing with blocks to detailed discussions about Pokeman, Harry Potter, and complex lego sets. And I hope that a few years from now we'll still be able to talk about "bigger" issues - like middle school and the years beyond.
On one hand, I take photos and I try to make the photos as real and true as possible. But kids don't want photos - they want someone to listen to their stories. And these kids have the best stories - I hope they never stop telling them to me.
