10 Happy Things for September
/HAPPY AUTUMN (ALMOST)!
I hope you had a summer full of adventures!!
We spent 3.5 weeks driving from Seattle to San Diego and as much fun as that was, I'm ready for autumn and all the wonderfulness it brings!!
10 HAPPY THINGS
As always, this list is pretty random, but hopefully something will make you smile.
-------
1. Ted Lasso's biscuit recipe (I need to try this!!)
I also enjoyed this short post on Ted Lasso's biggest lesson regarding ignorance and curiosity (plus, I crazy loved the Lady Bird reference).
-------
2. How pretty is this crocheted canopy?
-------
3. Proud to be married to this guy (my not-so-humble brag).
On vacation, the kids and I made fun of Dan because he's not googlable (he doesn't even have a Linked-In profile) and then, a few weeks later, Reuters somewhat randomly decided to profile him.
-------
4. A new Reading, Watching, Listening post is up on my blog - full of book, music, and tv recommendations. Click here to check it out!
(By the way, has anyone else seen this movie? So much to talk about.
Further, how amazing is the Chair? Especially Sandra Oh.)
-------
5. Any other Peloton fans out there? (If yes, let's be friends!!)
Emma Lovewell is one of my favorite instructors and she has a wonderful recipe blog. I can't stop eating this salad.
-------
6. Yup.
-------
7. Is anyone else curious about the characters' book choices in White Lotus?
Here's the full list (yay!! My Brilliant Friend).
And here's an analysis of Shane's choice.
WSJ also has an interview with the show's creator on this topic, but you need a subscription to read.
-------
8. I want to go here!!
And here!!
-------
9. Are these really the 25 greatest indie rock albums of all time?
Also, why we love the music we heard as teenagers. So I guess New Order and the Cure will forever make me happy.
-------
10. I recently blogged our summer vacation, where we spent 3.5 weeks roadtripping from Seattle to San Diego. Click here to check our the posts.

BUSINESS UPDATE
***FOR FAMILY SESSIONS & COUPLES SESSIONS, WEEKENDS ARE COMPLETELY BOOKED THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR & WEEKDAYS ARE BOOKED THROUGH OCTOBER ***
I am so sorry about this, due to the last 1.5 years of Covid, I'm photographing an unprecedented number of weddings this fall (almost 30) and I cannot take on the amount of family work I usually do. This makes me really sad as I love family photography!!
If anything changes and/or weddings need to cancel again, I will let you know in my next newsletter.
If you are a long-term client and would like fall photos, please contact me. I have a few "secret" slots I've been saving (weekdays only).
Also, January and February are currently wide open and 40% off if you'd like to schedule now!!
-------
FOR WEDDINGS - 2022 IS STARTING TO FILL!!
Also, if you're thinking of eloping or planning a mirco-wedding, please get in touch - I have lots of advice/suggestions!
-------
REGARDING COVID
In mid-May I received my second dose of the Moderna vaccine (yay!!). As I am now fully vaccinated, I have not been wearing a mask outdoors, but I have been wearing a mask indoors.
If you have any questions and/or if there's anything I can do to make you feel safer - please let me know!!

RECENT TESTIMONIALS
As cliched as it sounds, reviews mean the world to small businesses like mine, so THANK YOU AGAIN to everyone who wrote one!!

Aside from the whole marrying my best friend part, having Darcy as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made around our wedding. That sounds intense, but it's true. Darcy made us and our families feel so comfortable and cared for. She even hit it off with our very fickle baby niece, which is no easy undertaking. We all cried when we received the photos afterwards too. They were perfect and we will save them forever and ever. I recommend Darcy with her artistry and down to earth energy with no hesitation. She is THE best! - Stephanie
_______
First of all, my husband and I hired Darcy because of her photos. They are candid, special and full of life. She has the eyes and heart to see the beauty and truthfulness of life. Her photos just testify how much she loves observing and recording the world!
My husband and I enjoyed the entire process of being photographed by Darcy. She is very professional, responsive and communicates with clarity throughout the entire process. She is also a good listener. She understood what we wanted and gave us good suggestions. You are in great hands, if you choose her as your wedding photographer!
Last but not least, I still remember the little gifts received from Darcy a few weeks before my wedding. I didn't expect it at all and felt greatly touched by her thoughtfulness and love. - Cecilia

Darcy was an incredible gift to our family. As a family who historically does not like being in front of the camera...so made the experience so natural and FUN. She is able to capture the perfect moments and I could feel the joy in each photo that she provided. The photos are beautiful and capture our lovable, wild 1 year old in all the best ways. Darcy's photos are art and we highly recommend her! - Jenna
