Bubbles, Diapers, Archery, and a Rainbow Flag - An Afternoon at Home with the H Family (Bethesda, MD)
/I’ve been trying to blog this family for a few months, but the words kept failing me. Luckily, I tell most stories through images. Words seem too personal. After all, I only spend a few hours with the people I photograph - who am I to summarize them? But today I'm making an exception.
Some people meet the love of their life at 15 years old. Some people are a little older. Sometimes that love comes with children from another relationship. And you all become a family. You have two beautiful twin daughters together. And I cannot even imagine the loss that happens next.
Then a baby comes along (and a pandemic) and home becomes this wonderful combination of diapers and college grads and rainbow flags and a curious, loving ten year old girl. And parents who love you all. Again, this is not my story to tell to the world - I only had two hours. But as much as I loved meeting the H family, the best part of my summer was seeing how much they loved (and needed) each other.
