Snapshots of our February (Arlington, VA)

. . . it’s one of the most useless questions an adult can ask a child - What do you want to be when you grow up? As if growing up is finite. As if at some point you become something and that’s the end.

I’m not sure why, but February seemed to fly by (ha! I rhyme). Other than Parker and Trout’s basketball games, we didn’t do much as a family. In fact, now that the kids are all older, they spend more time in their rooms behind closed doors - and I find myself begging them to come downstairs for awhile.

My mom was hospitalized in Chicago (she’s fine now), so I flew in to spend a few days with her. We managed to go on a short hike at Pohick Bay. One snowday came and went without much fanfare. Trout couldn’t stop playing National Parks Monopoly (and trying to get all of us to play). But all in all, a relaxing month. So goes winter.
